Gumezishn Astrology is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Where sessions take place

In-person Natal Readings and Continuing Chart Defense sessions are held at partner venues in Devon where agreed. No client visits or attends sessions at my registered address; it is used for administrative and correspondence purposes only.

Where a session is held at a partner venue, that venue may operate its own security systems, including CCTV, on its premises. Any such system is owned and operated by the venue itself, not by Gumezishn Astrology, and any footage it records is subject to that venue's own privacy policy and data protection arrangements, not this notice. Details of the specific venue for a given session, and how to contact them directly about their own privacy arrangements, will be provided at the time of booking.

Chart Defense Workshops are offered online only.

What information I collect

The information I collect depends on which service you use.

For Natal Readings and Continuing Chart Defense sessions (in-person or online), I may collect and process:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Date, time, and place of birth (used to calculate the astrological chart)

  • Booking and payment information

  • Session notes

  • Any personal information you voluntarily disclose during the consultation or in correspondence

  • For Continuing Chart Defense: the question, life area, or condition you would like explored, as you send it to me in advance by email, phone, or a preliminary Proton Meet call (I do not collect new birth details for Continuing Chart Defense; this service works from the chart already prepared for your Natal Reading)

For Chart Defense Workshop (occasional, online), I collect:

  • Name and email address, for anyone registering interest or booking a place

  • Booking and payment information, once a workshop is confirmed and booked

Registering interest in a workshop does not create a booking and involves no payment. Birth details are not required to attend Chart Defense Workshops, and none are collected for this service unless you choose to share them voluntarily.

For online sessions and online follow-up meetings (either service), your name and email address may also be visible to Proton Meet, the video conferencing provider used to host the session, see "Video conferencing" and "Sharing your information" below.

All services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information to me, please contact me at the address above so it can be deleted.

Why I collect this information

I collect this information in order to:

  • Arrange and deliver Natal Readings, Continuing Chart Defense sessions, and Chart Defense Workshops

  • Prepare natal charts and other astrological material

  • Maintain client records

  • Respond to enquiries

  • Meet legal and accounting obligations

The lawful basis for processing personal information necessary to provide the requested services is Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR: processing necessary for the performance of a contract. Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, such as accounting or record-keeping requirements, the lawful basis is Article 6(1)(c) UK GDPR.

Where sensitive personal information (special category data) is voluntarily disclosed during a consultation or a group session, processing is undertaken with your explicit consent for the purpose of providing astrological services. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Where you register interest in a Chart Defense Workshop without booking a place, the lawful basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR). You may withdraw this consent, and have your details removed from the interest list, at any time.

How your information is stored

Personal information is stored securely using password-protected systems. Access to client information is limited to me and, where necessary, trusted third-party service providers that process information on my behalf to deliver services or operate the practice. These providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection requirements.

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information.

Chart preparation software

To prepare your chart, I use Galactic Astro Chart, an online astrological platform, which processes the birth details (date, time, and place) you provide in order to generate technical chart data. I also similarly use Astro-Seek's (https://www.astro-seek.com/) astrological reference tools and platform to support chart preparation and research. VIDEO CONFERENCING

For online Natal Reading debrief sessions, Continuing Chart Defense sessions, and any preliminary calls to discuss what you'd like explored, I use Proton Meet to host the call. I also use Proton Meet for Chart Defense Workshops. Proton Meet processes your name and email address in order to set up and run the meeting. Proton's own privacy policy governs how they handle this information and can be found at https://proton.me/legal/privacy.

Sharing your information

Your information will never be sold.

Information may be shared only:

  • where required by law;

  • with professional advisers where legally necessary; or

  • with trusted service providers necessary to operate the practice (for example payment processors, website hosting providers, email providers, Tally for client forms and questionnaires, astrological chart calculation software, partner venues for booking and administration of in-person sessions, or Proton Meet for online sessions and follow-up meetings).

Group session attendees are not shown other attendees' personal or astrological information; participation in a Chart Defense Workshop does not involve sharing your birth details or session notes with other attendees.

How long information is retained

Client records and session notes for Natal Readings and Continuing Chart Defense sessions are normally retained for seven years after your most recent consultation of either kind, whichever is later.

Booking records for Chart Defense Workshops are retained for the same period as required for accounting purposes.

General enquiries that do not result in a booking are retained for up to twelve months.

Workshop interest-list entries, where no booking follows, are retained for up to twelve months, or until you ask for your details to be removed, whichever is sooner.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • request access to your personal information;

  • request correction of inaccurate information;

  • request deletion of your information in certain circumstances;

  • object to processing;

  • request restriction of processing;

  • request the portability of your personal information where applicable;

  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and

  • lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office.
